MEXPA WOOS SMES TO PARTICIPATE IN TRADE MISSION TO VIETNAM
KUALA LUMPUR, May 30 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Exporters Association (MEXPA) is trying to woo more small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to join its general trade mission to Vietnam in July.
"Currently, 15 SMEs have registered with us for the trade mission and we are aiming to have 40," its president, Abdul Kabur Ibrahim said after a luncheon talk on the practical aspects of doing business in Vietnam, here Monday.
He said the sectors being targeted include food, palm oil, machinery and construction.
Among the objectives of the trade mission is to explore Vietnam's business potential since its became a World Trade Organisation (WTO) member four years ago and to obtain first hand information on the practical aspects of doing business in the country.
Kabur also said MEXPA plans to organise its trade mission to
Fiji, New Zealand, China and some countries in Central Asia by this year.
The trip to Vietnam is managed by The Exporters Club, Malaysia and Finex Company Ltd, Vietnam. Those who interested in joining the trade mission can email exportacademy2011@gmail.com.
