Senior MP Terms Islamic Resistance "Source of Honor for Muslims"

TEHRAN (FNA)- Head of the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi in a meeting with a Lebanese lawmaker here in Tehran on Monday underlined the importance of Islamic resistance to all Muslims across the world.
"Islamic Resistance is a source of honor for the Muslim world, and specially for the Lebanese nation," Boroujerdi said during the meeting with member of Lebanon-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group Hakob Bagratuni.

He also praised the Lebanese resistance against the oppressions and aggressions of the Zionist regime in recent years, and said, "Developments in Lebanon have always had regional and international effects."

"Resistance of a small country against the oppression and aggression of the Zionist regime in recent years should be praised," the Iranian lawmaker said.

Stressing that Lebanon enjoys a strong political influence in the region, Boroujerdi said that the big powers of the world are always sensitive to the developments in the Middle-Eastern country.

He also noted the two countries' ample potential for cooperation, and urged consolidation of ties and cooperation in parliamentary, political and cultural grounds.
