Iran's Central Province Keen to Expand Cooperation with Ukraine

TEHRAN (FNA)- Governor-General of Iran's Central Province of Isfahan Alireza Zaker Isfahani voiced the province's preparedness to establish mutual cooperation with Ukraine in different fields.
Speaking at a meeting with Ukraine's Ambassador to Iran Alexander Samaraski on Wednesday, Zaker said that his province is ready to transfer artistic pieces and handicrafts to Ukraine.

He said that the two countries are currently cooperating in industrial, scientific and academic fields, and asked the other side to focus on expansion of trade and industrial ties during the meeting,.

Zaker pointed to the industrial interactions between Ukraine and Isfahan Steel Complex, and added, "Iran and Ukraine are two prominent countries in industrial fields and are seeking to establish mutual industrial and technological interactions despite sanctions."

He further mentioned that he plans to visit Ukraine at the head of an industrial and trade delegation in the near future.

Samaraski, too, voiced his country's preparedness to expand cooperation with academic, industrial and production centers of Isfahan.

Iran has been seeking to bolster ties with Eastern Europe, specially Ukraine, in all the different political, economic and cultural spheres in the last few years.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in a meeting with Samaraski here in Tehran in November called for the development of all-out ties with Ukraine, stressing that Tehran sees no restriction or impediment to the expansion of its relations with Kiev.
