Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan gave messages of unity during his long-awaited election rally in Diyarbakir. Erdogan said, "I am not here for confrontation because brothers hug each other, do not fight."
AL-ASSAD SHOULD CONTINUE REFORMS
Speaking to TGRT Haber TV channel, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu defined Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad's decision to declare general amnesty as positive. "This step will pave the way for Syria and also a comprehensive reform. If this process is achieved, tension will reduce."

EU CONDEMNS ATTACK ON STUDENT DORMITORY IN SOUTHEAST TURKEY
The European union has strongly condemned an attack by PKK supporters on a student dormitory in the southeastern province of Cizre. European Commission's enlargement official Stefan Fule said in a statement that he cursed the attack adding that the commission was in solidarity with Turkey in its fight against terrorism. PKK supporters hurled fire bombs to the private dormitory which was mostly crowded by students from Imam Hatip schools.
TURKEY'S EXPORT REACHES $11 BLN IN MAY
Turkey's exports WAS UP by 21.7 percent to 11 billion USD in May 2011 over the same period in 2010. Exports rose by 14.1 percent to 123.1 billion USD year-on-year in the last 12 months. Exports are expected to reach 135 billion USD end of 2011 to hit a record high in Turkey's history.

TAKSIM SQUARE TO BELONG TO PEDESTRIANS
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan made public 22 giant projects for Istanbul, Izmir and Diyarbakir. According to Taksim Square Project, a tunnel will be built to relieve the traffic jam in Tarlabasi Avenue-Cumhuriyet Avenue and vehicle lanes in Ataturk Culture Center (AKM).
Taksim Square will be assigned to pedestrians.
EXPORTS RISES AT FULL SPEED
Turkish Assembly of Exporters (TIM) said Turkey's exports rose by 21.7 percent to 11 billion U.S. dollars in May 2011 when compared to the same month of 2010.
According to the figures by TIM, exports increased by 20.38 percent to 54.4 billion U.S. dollars in the first five months of 2011 over to the same period last year.
Turkey's exports rose by 14.1 percent to 123.1 billion U.S. dollars year-on-year in the last 12 months.
