SINGAPORE, June 3 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Najib Razak arrived here
Friday for a working visit to attend the 10th International Institute for
Strategic Studies (IISS) Shangri-La Dialogue.

The prime minister is scheduled to deliver a keynote address at the opening
of the forum.

Accompanied by his wife Rosmah Mansor, his plane touched down at Changi
International Airport at about 3.30pm where he was met by Malaysia's ambassador
to Singapore, Hussin Md Nayan.

Najib will hold bilateral meetings with Singapore's acting Prime Minister
Teo Chee Hean and United States Defence Secretary of State, Robert Gates this
afternoon.

Also known as the Asia Security Summit, the Shangri-La Dialogue, is an
annual forum organised by the IISS since 2002.

The Dialogue brings together representatives of its 28 member countries from
the Asia-Pacific region and Europe.

It provides the opportunity for sharing of information and exchanging of
views pertaining to confidence-building and practical security cooperation in
response to the contemporary and emerging security challenges.
