KUCHING TO HOST ASEAN AUSTRALIAN ENGINEERING CONGRESS 2011 NEXT MONTH
KUCHING (Sarawak, Malaysia), June 3 (Bernama) -- The Engineers Australia
Malaysia Chapter and Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak campus will
jointly organise the Asean Australian Engineering Congress 2011 here from July
25-27.
The congress is themed, "Engineering for Sustainability".
Engineering Australia has nominated 2011 as the Year of Humanitarian
Engineering with the goal of promoting the significance and importance of
humanitarian engineering to the engineering profession and the wider community,
its Malaysia Chapter said in a statement here Friday.
The congress will bring together experts from Singapore, Malaysia, India and
Germany to deliberate on a range of topics such as planning and policy, climate
change, sustainable buildings and infrastructures, green technology, sustainable
waste and water management as well as the community and environment.
Locally, it has confirmed speakers from Sarawak Energy Berhad and the
Sarawak State Planning Unit while Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud is
expected to officiate the opening.
In conjunction with the event, exhibition booths are available to showcase
the latest engineering innovations and services.
