SINGAPORE, June 4 (Itar-Tass) -- Trade turnover between Russian and
China grew by 50 percent and reached 60 billion dollars, Russian Deputy
Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov said at a meeting with Chinese Defence
Minister Liang Guanglie held on the sidelines of the conference "Dialogues
in Shangri-La."
As the deputy prime minister said, relations between Moscow and
Beijing are constantly making progress. Ivanov expressed the hope that a
visit of Chinese President Hu Jintao to Russia due to be held in June will
strengthen the two countries' interaction.
"Our countries have good prospects in energy cooperation, nuclear
energy, interaction in the military-technical sphere, high technologies,"
Ivanov said. "Meeting of the working groups at the level of profile
ministers are held constantly and the dialogue is actually not
interrupted."
At the same time, the deputy prime minister said that there are a lot
of problems and challenges connected with security in the Asia-Pacific
region. "And I offer to discuss them," he said.
