Turkey interested in oil and natural gas tenders in Iraq

BAGHDAD (A.A) - 06.06.2011 – Turkish Energy & Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz said that Turkey was interested in all oil and natural gas tenders in Iraq.
Turkey wanted to join these tenders, said Yildiz who held a press conference for Turkish journalists in Baghdad on Sunday.
Yildiz said that Turkish Petroleum Corp. (TPAO), Turkish Petroleum International Company (TPIC) and Turkish private sector were interested in the tenders in Iraq.
Noting that Turkey's activities in Iraq would increasingly continue, Yildiz expressed belief that all those activities would speed up the normalization process in Iraq.
Yildiz said that the natural gas, which would be extracted in Iraq, would firstly be used to meet the need of Iraq, and then it would be exported. He added that the export process would begin 5-6 years later.
Noting that Iraqi natural gas would be exported to Europe via Turkey, Yildiz said that the road map about this process was not delayed.
Yildiz also expressed belief that Turkish companies would gain an important amount of share in natural gas and oil tenders in Iraq.
