MALAYSIAN PM'S WIFE IMPRESSED BY FAMILY STYLE ORPHANAGES

ASTANA (Bernama) – The Prime Minister's wife Rosmah
Mansor, who had accompanied Najib Tun Razak on his official visit to Kazakhstan,
was impressed with the family and village style orphanages she visited here.

Known for her nurturing and caring towards the welfare of children, she
suggested the SOS Children's Village organisation in Astana be implemented in
Malaysia.

"The concept is very good as six or seven children live in a home with a
housemother who looks after them as her own," she told Malaysian reporters after
visiting the village.

The SOS Children's Village was built 10 years ago with public and private
funds.

There are 14 homes housing 73 orphans with 14 single mothers in the capacity
of foster mothers.
