Serdyukov to participate in Russia-NATO Council meeting

MOSCOW (Itar-Tass) - Russia's Defence Minister Anatoly
Serdyukov will take part in a meeting of the Russia-NATO Council in
Brussels on Wednesday.
"The meeting is expected to focus on the state of and prospects for
military cooperation between Russia and NATO as well as international
security problems," the defence minister's spokeswoman, Irina Kovalchuk,
told reporters.
Special attention will be paid to issues related to missile defence
cooperation.
"The Russia-NATO Council meeting at the level of defence ministers
will take place for the first time after the period of estrangement caused
by the events in the Caucasus in August 2008," she said.
In Brussels Serdyukov will hold several bilateral meetings with NATO
defence ministers and top officials.
