Larijani Blasts IAEA for Complying with US Orders

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani lashed out at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for its unfounded report on Iran, and said the UN nuclear watchdog proved to be obeying the US orders.
"I guess the last report has been commissioned by the United States, probably because the Americans are angry with the movements and currents which have begun in the Middle East and North Africa," Larijani told a press conference after a meeting with his Singaporean counterpart Abdullah Tarmugi in Singapore City on Tuesday.
He went on to say that the United States' "confusion" made Washington "damage the reputation of international organizations".
He said phrases change under special conditions in IAEA reports. "Phrases change in the agency's reports based on the situation."
"When they want negotiations to proceed, they omit these phrases, but when they want to enter negotiations and take the initiative, they use vague phrases in the reports," Larijani added.
He advised the IAEA to try to complete their information instead of using vague phrases and this has nothing to do with Iran.
"Besides its regular inspections, IAEA cameras are still in place in Iran's nuclear centers," he stated.
On Monday, IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano claimed that the UN nuclear watchdog had received new unspecific information indicating that Iran may not be only developing nuclear energy for civilian purposes.
IAEA Director Amano General Yukiya Amano, in a statement at the meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors in Vienna on Monday, said that the agency has received "further information related to possible past or current undisclosed nuclear-related activities that seem to point to the existence of possible military dimensions to Iran's nuclear program."
Meantime, Iran's IAEA envoy Ali Asghar Soltaniyeh also asked the UN nuclear chief to drop political allegations against Iran's nuclear program and deal with Tehran's dossier from technical and legal perspectives.
Soltaniyeh strongly rejected Amano's remarks, saying that there is no substance to the information that has been provided to the agency.
Soltaniyeh underlined that the IAEA report suffers a lack of transparency, and reiterated that Amano should study the evidence that is provided by reliable sources and should make sure that it is solid.
