Direct air flights to connect Georgia and China

TBILISI, June 9 (Itar-Tass) -- Regular direct air flights will connect
Georgia and China.
The China Southern Airlines Company will operate the first flight
Urumqi-Tbilisi-Urumqi on Thursday, and later on, according to the
agreement between the two countries, planes will deliver passengers three
times a week.
Regular flights between Georgia and China "will favour cooperation
between businesses and growth of tourism, as well as development of
political and economic relations," Georgia's Ministry of Economy and
Stable Development said.
The introduction of direct flights was caused by development of the
Georgia-China cooperation and growth of trips by tourists, culture and
sports representatives. Earlier, it was possible to get from one country
to another only via Baku, Tashkent, Istanbul or other cities.
