Syrians flee to Turkey to escape clashes

YAYLADAGI (A.A) - 08.06.2011 - More Syrian people living near Turkish border have crossed into Turkey to escape violence between anti-Assad protesters and government forces.
97 Syrians including an injured one escaped from their country and entered Turkey through border Yayladag town of southern Hatay province on Wednesday; increasing the number of Syrian refugees to 448. They took shelter in a tent city set up by Turkish relief agency, Red Crescent.
United Nations refugee agency said earlier that many more Syrians are waiting to make the trip to Turkey if unrest escalates in Jisr al-Shughour where clashes between government forces and protesters have killed scores.
