'SUMAZAU' DANCE MAIN ATTRACTION AT 'KAAMATAN' HARVEST FESTIVAL
KOTA KINABALU (Sabah, Malaysia), June 10 (Bernama) -- The 'Sumazau'
performed by a thousand dancers will be the main draw during the 'Kaamatan' harvest festival open house event this year.
The event will start at 7.30pm Saturday at the Merdeka Field here.
The dance, showcased by such a large number of performers would attempt to gain entry into the Malaysia Book of Records.
Ministry of Information, Communication and Culture secretary-general Kamaruddin Siaraf said it would involve both dance artistes from Sabah and the Ministry of Culture and Arts.
The event will be launched by East Malaysia state of Sabah Governor Juhar Mahiruddin accompanied by his wife Puan Norlidah RM Jasni.
Prime Minister Najib Razak and his wife Rosmah Mansur were scheduled to be be present as well, said Kamaruddin.
