Syrian issue is not like Libya for Turkey, Turkish premier says

ANKARA (A.A) - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Thursday that the Syrian issue was not like Libya for Turkey.
Speaking on private ATV channel on Thursday, Erdogan said that Syria was like an internal matter for Turkey.
"We have a border with Syria that extends 800-900 kilometers. We can not close our doors to those Syrians trying to escape from violence. But how long we keep the doors open is another question. I heard that around 2,500 Syrians are about to enter Turkey. I spoke with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad 4-5 days ago about the situation there. They (the administration of Syria) are not acting in an humane fashion. The United Nations Security Council is now working on Syria. In the face of violence, we can not continue to support Syria. We do have relatives living in Syria," Erdogan said.
Answering a question, Prime Minister Erdogan said that the United States did not make any demand from Turkey to participate in the bombing of Libya.
