YOUTHS IN MALAYSIA HAVE MUCH TO OFFER, SAYS WONDER BOY TIMOTHY SENG

KUALA LUMPUR, June 10 (Bernama) -- Malaysian wonder boy Timothy Lim Seng Yen
who played a role in the designing of the new I-Phone 4 for Apple, says Malaysia
has so much potential for growth and its young people could apply what they
learn from technology and societies abroad to make a significant difference in
its growth.

Lim, who created waves several years ago in the media for his high academic
achievements with his 16 A1 in the "A" level examinations and later on for doing
double engineering degrees in Stanford University, US, said this at a press
conference here Friday.

Currently on a holiday from the United States where he works for Yahoo Inc,
Lim said young Malaysians learning abroad should think about how they can apply
what they learn abroad to make Malaysia a better place.

He said many Malaysians do struggle to adapt to the culture of other places
but they should not let that stop them from studying abroad.

At the press conference, Lim spoke of his work in Yahoo and shared his
experiences in Stanford where he earned degrees in Biochemical Engineering and
Management Science and Engineering.

Meanwhile, commenting on the country's "brain-drain" issue, Lim said
although it was something Malaysia should be concerned about, the government
should also want the talented ones "to make an impact and gain experiences in
other countries as well."

Morever, there is still a huge pool of talents that have stayed back in
Malaysia, he said.

"For them, it's still a long way to go. Even if the talents leave, I
think they will come back eventually," Lim added.

Besides his academic achievements, Lim is also an accomplished musician who
plays both the violin and piano.
