ASTANA (Itar-Tass) - Kazakhstan and China have vast prospects
for nuclear cooperation, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev told a news
conference after the talks with his Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao.
He especially pointed to such areas of cooperation as "joint nuclear
fuel production and construction of nuclear power stations."
"As a result of the visit Kazatomprom (state-run nuclear power
company) and the China National Nuclear Corporation signed an agreement on
strategic nuclear interaction. This year Kazakhstan will begin to supply
fuel pellets to China," Nazarbayev said.
