China Eximbank to give Belarus credit of 1 bln dollars.
MINSK, June 14 (Itar-Tass) -- The construction and reconstruction of
simultaneously three major facilities will be financed by China. This is
reflected in the credit agreements to the total sum of more than one
billion dollars. The agreements were signed with China's Eximbank at the
Belarussian government on Tuesday.
As Deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Tozik told journalists, according to
one of the agreements, the Belarussian side will be given a purchase
credit of 654 million dollars for the construction of a plant to produce
sulphate bleached pulp. The second credit agreement to the sum o f340
million dollars will make it possible to finance the reconstruction of the
motor road Minsk-Gomel in the section of Zhlobin-Gomel. The third credit
agreement to the sum of 64 million dollars concerns the financing of the
provision of electric power for the railway section of the Belarussian
railway Gomel- Zhlobin-Osipovichi.
According to Tozik, the Chinese side offered "advantageous for Belarus
credit conditions."
