Kazakh FM holds meeting with CIS executive secretary.
ASTANA, June 14 (Itar-Tass) -- Kazakhstan comes out for further
development of integration processes in the CIS space, Foreign Minister of
the republic Yerzhan Kazykhanov said here on Tuesday at a meeting with
Chairman of the Executive Committee - CIS Executive Secretary Sergei
Lebedev who arrived here to take part in a jubilee SCO session.
"Touching upon interaction within the SCO framework, the Kazakh
foreign minister stressed the effectiveness of the principle of CIS work
"One year - - one topic." It was initiated by President Nursultan
Nazarbayev for achieving concrete results on one of the key issues
touching upon the interests of the majority of the CIS countries.
"At the meeting the interlocutors also discussed issues of
implementing the Concept of further development of the CIS and the
Strategy of economic development for a period of up to 2020," the Foreign
Ministry report says.
In connection with the forthcoming celebrations of the 20th
anniversary of the Commonwealth, issues of the preparation of a CIS
jubilee summit were also considered.
