Envoy Cautions about Washington, Tel Aviv's Divisive Plots

TEHRAN (FNA)- Tehran's Ambassador to Beirut Qazanfar Roknabadi warned on Tuesday that the US and Israel are striving to undermine revolutions and resistance in the region through divisive plots.
Speaking at a meeting with representative of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad in Beirut Abu Emad El-Refaei, Roknabadi pointed to the influence of the late Founder of the Islamic Republic, the late Imam Khomeini's school of thought on the Muslim nations in the region and the global movement against the arrogant powers and the US interests, and warned that Washington and Tel Aviv are doing their best to undermine these movements.
"Careful attentions should be paid in order not to allow the US and the Zionist regime to hijack the current moves in their interests since they are trying strike a blow at the axis of resistance through sedition in Syria," Roknabadi said.
He further underscored unity as Muslims' winning card in their confrontation with enemies' plots.
Refaei, for his part, thanked Iran for its support for the oppressed people of Palestine.
He further stressed the importance of the recent developments in the region, and said these developments will determine the region's future politics.
In recent months, a wave of revolutions and anti-government uprisings has swept the Arab world.
In January, a revolution in Tunisia ended the 23-year ruling of former President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali.
In February, another Arab revolution led to the ouster of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak after three decades of his authoritarian rule.
Also, while revolutions still continue in Libya, Yemen and Bahrain, anti-government unrests have just started in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Oman, Kuwait and Algeria.
