Iran Renews Strong Opposition to Military Intervention in Syria
TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran on Tuesday underlined its strong and steadfast opposition to the US military intervention in the region, specially Syria.
"Americans are not allowed to launch a military intervention in any country of the region, including Syria," Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehman-Parast stated.
"We strongly condemn any interference by the other countries in the affairs of the regional states," Mehman-Parast added.
He further noted that developments in Syria are domestic issues and should be resolved by the Syrians.
Earlier, a senior Lebanese analyst underlined the Syrian nation's strong unity against foreign interference in their country, and said unlike the situation in Libya, military intervention in Syria is doomed to failure.
"There is no sign of success for military intervention in Syria by now," Qaleb Qandil told FNA on Saturday, adding that any foreign aggression against the country will be faced with the Syrian people's strong resistance.
Earlier, a senior Syrian lawmaker downplayed western attempts to push Syria into a situation like what exists in Libya, and said Damascus would never be embroiled in such a condition.
"Western attempts to set the model of Libya in Damascus are doomed to failure," Shahadah Kamel told FNA on Wednesday, adding that Syria will never experience Libya's fate.
