3 police officers wounded, gunmen killed in Dagestan.

MAKHACHKALA, June 15 (Itar-Tass) -- Three police officers were wounded
when a militant opened gunfire after he was stopped to check documents in
the Russian North Caucasian republic of Dagestan, a spokesman for the
republican administration of the Russian Investigation Committee told
Itar-Tass on Wednesday.
According to the spokesman, the incident took place at about 22:50
Moscow time in the town of Kaskiisk. Police officers tried to check
documents of a suspicious-looking man, who opened gunfire at them.
Three police officers were wounded and the attacker was killed.
One of the wounded is the commander of special police detachment,
lieutenant colonel Magomedrasul Magomedov. He is in grave condition.
Efforts are being taken to identify the gunman.
