RF not take China activity in SCO as threat to economic potential

ASTANA, June 15 (Itar-Tass) -- Russia does not take China's activities
within the scope of the SCO states as a threat to the country's economic
potential, Russian Presidential Aide Sergei Prikhodko told reporters on
Wednesday in reply to a question about a broad use of Chinese Yuan in
financial transactions between the SCO states.
"If our Chinese partners can show a broader flexibility on the SCO
space, we take it with understanding and support," Prikhodko said.
"If we are lagging behind and we should boost the participation in
similar deals and they have some questions to us. We do not consider China
as a rival in this issue, but take it as an initiator of a useful
process," he pledged.
