MALAYSIA-PHILIPPINES AGREE ON AIR TRAFFIC RIGHTS

Malaysia and the Philippines have reached agreement on improving air traffic rights for passenger and cargo services especially for the Kuala Lumpur-Manila route.

Transport Minister Kong Cho Ha said based on the outcome of the air talks with the Philippines, both countries had agreed to raise the third and fourth traffic rights for the passenger service especially for the Kuala Lumpur-Manila route.

He said both countries had endorsed the third, fourth and fifth traffic rights increase for the cargo service through the Asean Agreement.

"With the signing of the agreement, the airlines of both countries have the flexibility to raise the flight frequency and capacity between Malaysia and the Philippines.

"It also helps to expand the tourism industry, trade and economy between the two countries," he said in a statement, here Wednesday.
