Major oil and gas companies to discuss Caspian offshore development
ASTANA (Itar-Tass) - More than 200 CEOs and top managers
from major regional and international oil and gas companies will gather in
Astana, Kazakhstan, on Thursday, June 16, to discuss the development of
Caspian offshore fields.
Such companies as KazMunayGas, KazMunayTeniz, North Caspian Operating
Company, ConocoPhillips, LUKOIL-Nizhnevolzhskneft, KazTransOil, KMG
Kashagan, KazMorTransFlot, TengizChevroil, Chevron MunayGas, Caspian
Energy, Total E&P Кazakhstan, Statoil, Saipem, RWE, Schlumberger, and
others have confirmed their participation, the Kazakhstan-based
association of oil and gas and energy sector companies KAZENERGY, which is
one of the organisers of the meeting, said.
The main discussions are expected to focus on key offshore projects in
Kazakhstan, Russia and Azerbaijan, as well as the role of and prospects
for the Turkmen shelf of the Caspian Sea.
The participants will share their experience of ensuring environmental
safety of marine oil operations and their views on how to create
favourable political and economic conditions for further development of
offshore fields.
"The conference, as the main oil and gas event of the year, will
facilitate inter-regional and international cooperation as well as more
intensive exchange of experience in using innovative technologies and
improving legal regulation in the use of subsoil resource on the
continental shelf," the organisers said.
Keynote speakers include Kazakh Vice Minister of Oil and Gas Berik
Tolumbayev and Head of the EU Mission in Kazakhstan Norbert Justin.
