Russian envoy urges NATO to build partnership with SCO

LONDON (Itar-Tass) - The North Atlantic Alliance should
build a constructive dialogue with the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation
(SCO), Russian permanent representative to NATO Dmitry Rogozin said.
"NATO should watch very closely what the SCO and the CSTO (Collective
Security Treaty Organisation) are doing, and the better the North Atlantic
Alliance understands these are its direct and the most natural partners
and legalise these relations, the better," Rogozin said.
The SCO "is a young organisation with a big and untapped potential"
and it has "a clear jurisdiction and a clear geographical area of
responsibility", he said.
Many countries would like to integrate into it, Rogozin said, adding
that NATO should take into account the opinion of the SCO Member States.
