Aeroflot's Sukhoi SuperJet to make first regular flight

MOSCOW (Itar-Tass) - A Sukhoi SuperJet-100 plane to be
operated by Aeroflot will make the first regular flight on Thursday, June
16.
The plane will fly from Moscow to St. Petersburg. It will bring
passengers for the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, including
officials from the federal government, the Transport Ministry, and
Aeroflot.
Aeroflot has ordered 30 such planes and will get 10 of them in 2011,
then 12 in 2012 and another eight in 2013.
The aircraft will replace Tu-134 planes. The first serial Sukhoi
SuperJet-100 was handed over to the Armenian airline Armavia on April 19,
2011.
During the first month of operation, the plane flew for over 168 hours
and transported 2,885 passengers, travelling a distance of about 85,800
kilometres.
The SuperJet, the first new Russian passenger plane over the past 20
years, is being created through unprecedentedly broad international
cooperation that involves more than 30 major international aerospace
companies, system and component suppliers.
