CROWN PRINCE OF ABU DHABI TO VISIT MALAYSIA FRIDAY

KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama) - The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Armed Forces General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will be making an official visit to Malaysia Friday.

A Foreign Ministry statement said Thursday that Sheikh Mohammed will be accompanied by a delegation consisting of senior government officials.

During the visit, Sheikh Mohammed will be having a royal audience
with the King Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin at Istana Negara as well as a meeting with Prime Minister Najib Razak.

The statement said that Malaysia was confident that the visit could further consolidate the existing excellent relations between Malaysia and the UAE.

Trade and investment relations between Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates have witnessed tremendous growth since the past several years.

In 2010, UAE was Malaysia’s largest trading partner in the Middle East with total trade amounting to RM19.80 billion (US$6.10 billion) compared to RM16.10 billion (US$4.60 billion) in 2009.

In terms of investment, among the UAE companies involved in investments in Malaysia include Mubadala Development Company (MDC).

In addition, the visit would provide an opportunity for both countries to discuss bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual concern, the ministry added.
