Medvedev hails dialogue with Hu Jintao as constructive, friendly

MOSCOW, June 16 (Itar-Tass) - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has
hailed his talks with Chinese President Hu Jintao on Thursday as "a
constructive and friendly dialogue on all issues".
"It is useful for our countries and peoples, and this means that it
meets the interests of security and stability in the world," the Russian
leader told reporter after the ceremony to sign bilateral documents.
He stressed that over the past ten years the sides have been guided in
their relations by the "trust-based partnership and strategic cooperation"
formula, and this was fixed in the agreements reached on Thursday.
Medvedev said that in their trade and economic relations, the two
countries seek to increase trade turnover to 100 billion dollars in 2015
and to 200 billion dollars by 2020.
He said they had discussed at Kremlin talks on Thursday "key tasks of
cooperation in bilateral and multi-lateral formats". Apart from the
development of trade and economic relations, much attention was paid to
humanitarian ties, the president added.
Focusing on international aspects of the summit talks, he said "we
considered our cooperation within the formats of the SCO and the BRICS
group of states, the situation in the Middle East, in North Africa, as
well as discussed the settlement on the Korean peninsula. The approaches
of our countries to the settlement of those problems are very close".
