Medvedev to participate in St Pete economic forum

ST. PETERSBURG, June 17 (Itar-Tass) -- Russia's President Dmitry
Medvedev will open St Petersburg international economic forum and will
give a speech at the Emerging Leadership For A New Era. Securing Global
Growth.
Medvedev will speak about Russia's investment climate, innovations and
joining the WTO.
Russia's president has been participating in the economic forum ever
year and, like in the past, his programme is very tight. After he
participates in the discussion due at 11:00 Moscow time, he will start a
series of negotiations with foreign counterparts - this year's forum will
feature six state leaders. Medvedev will also have meetings with heads of
the companies - partners of the forum as well as with heads of major
American companies. On the fields of the forum, he will be present at the
signing of Russia-France documents.
Medvedev will present prestigious Global Energy prizes to Russia's
academician Philipp Rutberg - for fundamental research, and for design of
energy plasma technologies, and to the USA's Arthur Rosenfeld - for
outstanding research and implementation of energy saving technologies.
The Global Energy prize is an independent prize for outstanding
scientific research and technical design in energy, which improve
effectiveness and ecology security of energy sources on the Earth in the
interests of mankind.
