RF, Sri Lanka presidents discuss issues of combating terror

ST. PETERSBURG, June 17 (Itar-Tass) -- Russian President Dmitry
Medvedev and his Sri Lankan counterpart Mahinda Rajapaksa discussed issues
of combating terrorism, as well as the development of bilateral contacts
on Friday.
"This is a good opportunity to exchange views on the pace of
development of our relations, as well as views on the current
international situation, on challenges with which our countries
encounter," the Russian head of state said. According to him, these
challenges are close and include terrorism, smuggling of drugs and a
number of other problems.
"We have always supported your struggle with terrorism," the Russian
president said. "This is a natural defense of the people from this great
evil," Medvedev stressed.
