Turkish prosecutor seeks 27-year sentence for Armenian journalist's murder suspect


ISTANBUL (A.A) - June 17, 2011 - A Turkish prosecutor has sought up to 27 years jail sentence for a gunman who allegedly killed Turkish-Armenian journalist Hrant Dink in 2007.
Ogun Samast, who stands trial at a juvenile high criminal court in Istanbul as he was below 18 in 2007, faces charges of "deliberate murder" and "possession of unregistered firearm." 
Istanbul's public prosecutor Ali Demir asked the court to keep Samast behind bars from 19 up to 27 years. 
Hrant Dink, chief editor of the bilingual Agos newspaper, was shot dead outside his office in Istanbul on January 19, 2007.
