Iran's Defense Minister Arrives in Kabul
TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi started an official visit to Afghanistan on Saturday to explore the ways for further expansion of ties between the two neighboring states.
Vahidi's visit came upon an official invitation of his Afghan counterpart Abdulrahim Vardak.
Vahidi, heading a high ranking defense delegation, is to meet with Afghanistan high ranking political and defense officials and discuss bilateral, regional and international issues.
It is the first ever visit of an Iranian defense minister to Afghanistan after the victory of Islamic revolution in Iran.
Also it is also the first ever visit of an Iranian defense minister to Afghanistan since 92 years ago.
Iran and Afghanistan enjoy expanding ties and cooperation and observers believe that the good achievements gained in area of their mutual cooperation should be deemed as a result of the efforts made by the two countries' officials.
