ILO Elects Iran as Member of Governing Body

TEHRAN (FNA)- The International Labor Organization (ILO) member states elected the Islamic Republic of Iran as one of the members of the organization's Governing Body.
Iranian Minister of Labor Abdolreza Sheikholeslami who is in Geneva, Switzerland, announced that Iran won a majority of votes and was elected as one of the ILO Governing Body members.
The development enables Iran play a more effective role in future decisions that will be made by the Governing Body at the ILO.
The 100th Session of the International Labor Conference concluded on June 17 in Geneva, Switzerland.
The ILO is a UN body responsible for drawing up and overseeing international labor standards.
