Russia fulfils mission assigned to it by G-8.
MOSCOW, June 19 (Itar-Tass) - Mikhail Margelov, the Russian president'
s special envoy for Africa, said on Saturday that Russia had fulfilled the
mission assigned to it in Deauville.
"Russia has done everything of which its partners asked it at the G-8
summit in Deauville," Margelov who's just returned from a mediation tour
of Northern Africa went on to say.
"Today, we have three segments of the mosaic of the Libyan political
elite. They include the position of the government of Jamahiriya in
Tripoli, the Transitional National Council in Benghazi and that part of
the Libyan political elite that has linked up neither with the opposition
nor the Jamahiriya authorities. It is represented by Ahmed Gaddaf al-Dam,
" Margelov explained.
"We are now ready to present full understanding of the situation to
the G-8 leaders, and they, for their part, should make a decision,"
Margelov stressed.
