Iran Stresses Afghans' Ability to Establish Security

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran's Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi on Sunday reiterated that the Afghan nation has full capability and is completely able to establish security in the war-torn country without assistance and interference of foreign forces.
"The great and brave nation of Afghanistan is capable of establishing its security in the best possible form without the interference of the trans-regional forces," Vahidi said in a meeting with Afghan First Vice-President Qaseem Fahim in Kabul on Sunday.

During the meeting, Fahim underlined Iran's unique role in regional developments, and said Kabul attaches special importance to the development and deepening of relations with the friendly and brotherly country of Iran.

He also reiterated that his nation would never forget Iran's supports and assistances to Afghanistan during the hard times and days.

Iran and Afghanistan enjoy expanding ties and cooperation and observers believe that the good achievements gained in area of their mutual cooperation should be deemed as a result of the efforts made by the two countries' top officials.

Tehran is one of the most important donors to Afghanistan which has kept its promises to help to the reconstruction of the war-hit country.

Iran has built several roads, power transmission lines, border stations and many other infrastructural projects in Afghanistan.
