Iran to Hold 2nd Nat'l Seminar on Novel Sciences, Technologies in Oil Industry

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Second Seminar on Novel Sciences and Technologies in Petroleum Refining Industry is scheduled to be held in Isfahan Petroleum Refining Town and Isfahan University of Technology from October 4-5, 2011.
The seminar will be held through cooperation among Martyr E'tebari Research Institute of Isfahan University of Technology, Isfahan University of Technology and Isfahan Petroleum Refining Company, as a sign of better links between university and industries.

"The important difference between this seminar and the similar ones that have so far been organized all over the country is that this seminar is one of the few seminars that are held with the direct participation and responsibility of a part of industry and university," Dr Keiqobad Shams, head of the seminar's secretariat, explained.

"Moreover, numerous sparse yet specialized seminars have so far been held at a national level on new technologies, but none of them has emphasized the application of such technologies in a specific industry. Such emphasis makes this seminar different from the others."

Among the scopes of the seminar, mention can be made of refinery development plans and the role of new technologies in petroleum industries, technical and engineering, maintenance and repair services, provision of the consumed chemical materials (catalysts, additives, adsorbents...), process engineering, optimization, renovation and administration of green standards.
