Yanukovich hopes for big investments from China

KIEV, June 20 (Itar-Tass) -- Ukraine's President Viktor Yanukovich
hopes for attraction of large-scale investments from China for
implementation of the country's infrastructure projects.
"I would like to stress the necessity to attract large-scale
investments for Ukraine's infrastructure projects, where Chinese
technologies will be used," Yanukovich said on Monday during his meeting
with China's Head of State Hu Jintao.
Construction of a high speed railroad connecting Borispol airport and
Kiev is a major joint project.
"I am convinced, this is just the beginning of our cooperation," he
said.
Ukraine continues working on technical aspects of the construction of
a hydroelectric power plant in the town of Shchelkino in Crimea.
"I hope its soonest launch will settle the problems with lack of
electric energy and with development of Eastern Crimea," Yanukovich said,
adding that those projects are implemented with use of credits from China'
s bank, where Ukraine had provided state guarantees.
