Ukraine for activation of trilateral cooperation with RF, China

KIEV, June 20 (Itar-Tass) -- Ukraine is for activation of trilateral
cooperation with Russia and China, the country's President Viktor
Yanukovich said on Monday during his negotiations with China's Head of
State Hu Jintao, who is in Ukraine on a state visit.
"I would like to draw your attention specifically to the future of
establishing trilateral cooperation between Ukraine, China and Russia,"
Yanukovich said, stressing that they share many joint approaches to major
problems on the international agenda. Besides, he continued, there is good
future for trans-border economic cooperation.
Yanukovich stressed that organisation of railway connection between
the three countries to save time for goods delivery may be one of
realistic projects.
"Knowing about the plans to implement the project of Russia and China
to construct a gas pipeline for transportation of Russia's gas to China,
Ukraine might provide supplies of pipes, pumping equipment for the project
and, possibly, might participate in the project if necessary," Yanukovich
said.
"Ukraine is ready to become China's reliable partner in development of
pipe transport and in supplies of necessary equipment," he added. Besides,
Ukraine may participate in China-Russia projects on construction of
nuclear power plants.
