Flight recorders found at site of Tupolev-134 crash in N W Russia

PETROZAVODSK, June 21 (Itar-Tass) - Flight recorders have been found
at the site of a Tupolev-134 passenger jet crash near the northwest
Russian city of Petrozavodsk, the administrative center of the Karelia
region.
"The technical condition of the onboard flight recorders is being
examined," a source at Russia's federal Ministry for Emergency Situations
and Civil Defense told Itar-Tass.l
The jet of the Rusair airline took off from Moscow's Domodedovo
airport at 22:30 Monday. Slightly less than an hour a half later, it
crash-landed on an automobile road less than two kilometers away from the
Petrozavodsk airport compound.
According to EMERCOM data, 40 people died and only eight survived the
crash.
EMERCOM officials also said the ministry has published the list of the
jet's passengers at its official website. "It contains the names of all
the 43 passengers who boarded for the flight," an official indicated.
Also, telephone hotlines have been opened in Petrozavodsk and St
Petersburg for inquiries on the plight of passenger and crewmembers.

Spokespeople for the regional center told Itar-Tass a Mi-8 helicopter
with a team of twelve rescue workers and four psychologists was to take
off from St Petersburg at around 04:00 hours Tuesday
