Trainer jet crashes near Air Force Academy

CHEONGJU, South Korea, June 21 (Yonhap) -- A trainer jet crashed into the ground near the Air Force Academy in central South Korea, witnesses and officials said Tuesday. The jet hit a rice paddy in Cheongwon of North Chungcheong Province, about 120 kilometers south of Seoul, around 1:30 p.m., they said, adding the fate of the pilot is unknown.
