Russian President Medvedev could meet Kim Jong-il next week

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev could meet North Korean leader Kim Jong-il in Vladivostok, Russia, next week, a local report said Thursday.
PrimaMedia, a news agency for Russia's far east, said it had confirmed the information through various sources, but didn't provide further specifics.
Medvedev plans to visit the eastern part of the country between next Wednesday and Friday to check upon preparations for next year's Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Vladivostok.
Kim and Medvedev have never held talks. Kim did meet former Russian President Vladimir Putin in Vladivostok in 2002.
