Russia-China subcommission on mass media holds meeting in Beijing
Russian and Chinese news agencies, TV
and radio channels, leading newspapers and publishing houses will continue
developing creative cooperation and exchanges of delegations.
This idea was expressed at the fourth meeting of the bilateral
subcommission on cooperation in the mass media, which was held in the
Chinese capital on Thursday. The meeting resulted in signing a protocol
and work plan for 2011-2012.
"The most beautiful project of the past year was multimedia project
'Hello, China' during the Year of the Chinese Language in Russia, that
evoked a great response among Russians," noted head of the Federal Agency
for the Press and Mass Communications as well as chairman of the Russian
part of the subcommission Mikhail Seslavinsky.
He added that this project of International Radio of China, which was
implemented with the participation of the Russia-Culture TV channel,
Rossiiskaya Gazeta and Itar-Tass, "will be continued in some or other
form". Seslavinsky called on the Chinese side to step up efforts for
expanding the access of the Chinese audiences to Russian TV channels.
"Humanitarian cooperation has become an inseparable part of strategic
partnership between China and Russia; cooperation in the sphere of the
mass media has a huge potential. We are sure that even brighter
perspectives open before humanitarian cooperation," said deputy chief of
the Chinese State Administration of Radio, Film and Television Li Wei.
The mass media of the two countries intend to give special attention
to covering events in the framework of the coming Years of Russian Tourism
in China (2012) and Chinese Tourism in Russia (2013), "which will help to
raise mutual understanding and strengthen friendship", said participants
in the Beijing meeting.
