Hyundai Heavy's unit wins 1.4 tln won order for 10 container ships
SEOUL (Yonhap) - Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co., a South Korean shipyard, said Friday that it has won a 1.4 trillion won (US$1.3 billion) deal to build 10 container vessels.
Under the deal with Neptune Orient Lines Ltd. of Singapore, Hyundai Samho will deliver the vessels starting from June 2013, the company said.
Along with Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co., Hyundai Samho is a unit of Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., the world's leading shipbuilder.
Hyundai Samho said it has won deals valued at $3.2 billion so far this year to build 30 ships, achieving more than 90 percent of its annual order target of $3.5 billion.
The shipbuilder is also aiming at generating sales of 4.65 trillion won for the year.
