M'SIAN KING WANTS MUSLIMS TO AVOID CONFLICTS AND REMAIN UNITED

BALIK PULAU (Penang, Malaysia), June 24 (Bernama) -- Malaysian King Tuanku
Mizan Zainal Abidin, who expressed concern with an imminent split among Muslims
in the country, said such a crisis must not be allowed to continue.

"Efforts must be made to restore unity among the Muslims so that others will
not take advantage of the situation to disrupt peace and harmony among Muslims,"
said Tuanku Mizan after officially opening the Maahad Al-Mashoor Al-Islami
complex here Friday.

The king also urged Muslims to further strengthen co-operation with each
other to achieve greater unity and progress for the community.

"The recent happenings in Muslim countries must serve as a lesson to avoid
the kind of sufferings, instability and disunity. We must avoid such a situation
at any cost," he said.

Tuanku Mizan urged all religious institutions and mosques to continue
strengthening unity among the Muslims and prepare them to face the challenges
ahead.
