Parliament Speaker Due in Baku in Days

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani is scheduled to pay a visit to the Azerbaijani capital city of Baku next week, an Iranian diplomat announced on Saturday.
Tehran's Ambassador to Baku Mohammad Baqer Bahrami told FNA today that Larijani is due to start a three-day official visit to Azerbaijan on Thursday (June 30).
Bahrami added that the visit will take place at the invitation of Larijani's Azeri counterpart.
Late in May, Azeri President Ilham Aliyev in a meeting with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Mohammad Reza Raouf Sheibani in Baku expressed pleasure in the accelerated development of mutual cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, Aliyev referred to the strong political relations between the two countries, and said Iran and Azerbaijan's economic ties are also growing on the basis of the existing agreements.
Tehran and Baku have sought to expand their relations, specially in trade and economic fields, and signed several cooperation agreements in recent months.
