Iranian, Turkmen FMs Discuss Mutual Cooperation
TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi and his Turkmen counterpart Rashid Meredev explored ways to expand mutual cooperation in different fields.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the International Conference on Global Fight against Terrorism here in Tehran on Saturday.
According to a report released by the Iranian Foreign Ministry's Information and Press Bureau, Salehi and Meredov reviewed latest developments in bilateral relations and progress in joint oil, gas, electricity, railroad and customs projects.
The two sides also discussed ways to accelerate execution of agreements that has already been signed between the two countries.
The two officials further underlined continuation of the expert-level talks as well as continuation of bilateral consultations for regional and multi-lateral cooperation.
Salehi underlined necessity of concentration on commonalties and expressed Iran's readiness to expand cooperation in the fields of economy, trade and culture.
Meredov, for his part, expressed his country's interest to expand cooperation with Iran in the fields of energy, transportation, culture and social exchanges and added that our priority is cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Earlier this week, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov in a phone conversation with his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad described Tehran as a reliable partner for Ashgabat, and urged further expansion of relations and cooperation between the two states.
