Presidential Aide: Tehran Summit Heralds Global Fight against Terrorism
TEHRAN (FNA)- The International Conference on the Global Fight against Terrorism in Tehran can be the start point for a global campaign against terrorism, Iran's top presidential advisor Mojtaba Samareh Hashemi said.
"This summit can be the starting point of the global trend against terrorism, which, of course, necessitates change in the world order, (including) the current economic and political structures, Samareh Hashemi said.
The fight against terrorism will be successful when the arrogant rulers of the world today - who are the real advocates of terrorism - are replaced by just rulers, the Iranian official added.
He further highlighted the importance of global cooperation by the countries of the world to fight terrorism, saying, "Since terrorism is a global concern … cooperation by intellectuals and independent countries in the fight against terrorism will be a great and global cooperation."
The two-day International Conference on Global Fight against Terrorism officially started work here in Tehran on Saturday with several high-ranking officials and international figures in attendance
The event has brought together senior officials from at least 60 countries, and representatives from several international organizations, including the UN.
The high-profile conference, held with the slogan of a "World Without Terrorism", is aimed at increasing international convergence and coordination in fighting terrorism.
