Participants in Tehran Anti-Terror Conference Praise Iran's Initiative

TEHRAN (FNA)- Participants in the International Conference on Global Fight against Terrorism in Tehran believe that the gathering was "an excellent initiative" by the Iranian government.
"Terrorism is a worldwide issue and the entire international community has the responsibility to deal with it," President of the Canada-based Justice for Bosnia Task Force Zeljko Milicevic said.

Milicevic expressed hope that the two-day Tehran assembly would be a challenge for the West to contribute to the discussions.

"Terrorism is a problem of the Western states as well," he added.

"It is important to define terrorism, and when it is defined, we can look for its solutions through cooperation within the international community, regardless of religion," Milicevic concluded.

The two-day summit in Tehran ended up work here in Tehran on Sunday after issuing a final statement.

The high-profile gathering officially started work here in Tehran on Saturday with senior officials from at least 60 countries and representatives of several international organizations in attendance.

The event, arranged under the slogan of "A World Without Terrorism", was aimed at increasing international convergence and coordination in fighting terrorism.

The topics discussed in the summit included various aspects of fighting terrorism, reasons behind the increasing trend of terrorist activities in the world, challenges and obstacles in the way of fighting terrorism, and enhancing appropriate counter-terrorism means and strategies on bilateral, regional and international levels.
