Hyundai Motor unveils new vehicle to tap into Aussie market

Hyundai Motor Co., the world's fifth-largest automobile maker, unveiled its new compact passenger vehicle in Canberra on Tuesday in a bid to tap into the local small car market.
The South Korean automaker's Australian unit, Hyundai Motor Company Australia, held a presentation the same day to show off the Avante, dubbed the Elantra in the local market, to the press in the capital city of the nation.
The company hopes the newly released Elantra will gain popularity for its spacious interior and versatile functions, following the robust demand for another of its popular small car models, the i30.
According to the data released earlier by the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries, Hyundai's market share in the local automobile market stood at third place for two months in a row in April and May, behind General Motors Co. and Toyota Motor Co.
